Types of Patterns

Bicolor - The most commonly pattern found; more sort after bicolor Bettas are those whose body's coloring is a solid single color while its fins have a completely different coloring.

Butterfly - Mimicking the fluttering of a butterfly's wings, this pattern consists of a single color that extends from the Betta's body into their tail before stopping. While the edging of the fins have a completely separate color.

Cambodian - Bicolor pattern; the Betta's body is a light pink/flesh like color with bright red fins (fins may come in another solid color).

Dalmatian - Comparable to Marble Bettas in pattern this type will have a more pronounce color pattern. Often found in color combinations of blue and white or red and orange; Orange Dalmatian (Apricot Spots) being rarer.

Dragon (Dragon Scale) - These Bettas will have visually thick white/opaque shimmery/metallic scales causing it to have the appearance of medieval amor.

Grizzle - Appearing to have a brush strokes like pattern consisting of a single dark color with the same color base in a lighter shade.  

Marble - Common in Koi Bettas; the process of marbling (splotchy color like patterns) will develop as the Betta matures and may often change throughout their life span. 

Multi-colored - An all-in-one term used for the endless possibly undefined patterns of Bettas with three or more colors.

Mustard - Another common bicolor Betta consisting of a dark color body (brown, black, blue or green) with orange/yellow fins and tail that is outlined with the body's color. 

Solid - A Betta with one single color and no pattern variations.
